What is localization?

L10n (Localization) is the process of adapting a product (software, website, or document) for an audience in a different country, culture, or region of the world. Because localization involves cultural adaptation, it is more complex than translation.

Is it possible to translate my website?

Absolutely. We can work directly on the source code of your site. Your files can also be uploaded directly to the Web upon request, ready to be browsed. Visit our page on website translations for more information.

How do I calculate the number of words in my document?

You have two options:

  • Manually calculate the number of words on an A4 page considering that there are normally 250 words on the page.
  • Send us your files via the contact form or by email (info@MedadTrans.com).

starting the project, the project manager will contact you if the word count differs significantly from what you indicated (either higher or lower).

How much does a translation cost?

We charge based on the size, format, and difficulty of your text, as well as on the source and target languages. Please contact us for more information.

Where can I get a free quote?

Our Account Manager will contact you within a couple of hours with a quote after receiving your files via the contact form or via email (info@MedadTrans.com).

What types of files can you translate?

We can translate any file format, and you may send us the files via the contact form or via email (info@MedadTrans.com).

The formats we translate include:

  • Office
    • Word
    • PowerPoint
    • Excel

    • HTML/XHTML
    • User-defined XML
    • Javascript

We are happy to assist you if you have complex needs and would like to discuss your project personally.

Do you offer certified translations?

Your order can be accompanied by a Certificate of Translation Accuracy (see an example here). This certificate attests that the translation was accomplished by a native speaker of the target language, to the best of their abilities. A certified translation is free.

There is a difference between this certification and a sworn translation service, i.e. a translation which has been done by an officially appointed (sworn) translator. As of now, we do not provide sworn translations.

How many words can you translate per day?

The turnaround time is approximately as follows:

up to 500 words – 6 hours

1,000 to 2,000 words – 48 hours

over 2,000 words – 1,500 words per day

Please note that these are indicative and for regular jobs only. We can offer shorter turnaround times upon request. Simply contact us, and our Account Manager will find the right solution for you.

Would it be possible to keep the page layout?

All editable file formats (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, editable PDF, Web and software formats, etc.) will maintain the original document layout. In these cases, the original document is overwritten without being altered in style or format.

In the case of non-editable files, such as images and scanned PDFs, or when the layout needs to be reversed to suit the new language, a DTP service can be added at an extra cost in order to maintain the layout.

Can you provide any guarantees?

Our translations are of the highest quality, and we support them with advanced quality assurance processes. Furthermore, we offer a free comprehensive translation review if you are dissatisfied with the translation.

You can trust us to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. Any information that the customer provides to MedadTrans regarding the translation itself, the nature of the translation, and any other information will be treated with complete confidentiality.

When should I pay?

All our clients have the option of paying after the translation is delivered, within 5 days. This is because we believe that trust should always be mutual. Although you can pay in advance after you confirm your order, if you wish to do so.

We also offer a monthly billing option for recurring customers, as well as a 30 to 60 day payment policy. For more information, please contact us.

For the first order, we may require new clients to provide us with an advance payment of 30% to 80%. All subsequent orders will be paid after delivery.

What are my payment options?

We will also send you an electronic invoice along with payment details and instructions when you receive your translation.

The following methods of payment are accepted:

  • Bank transfer
  • PayPal
  • Credit card (tobe added soon)

Please contact us if you need assistance with the payment process info@MedadTrans.com

What is the purpose of communicating with a project manager rather than a translator?

Project managers are there to assist you with your project. Your project manager is responsible for planning, supervising, and managing all aspects of your project, from kick off to delivery and billing. Although he/she does not translate documents, he/she ensures that your project is delivered on time and makes sure that the final check is done.
